Prince George’s County Police confirmed Saturday afternoon that 36-year-old Shannon Collins and 1-year-old Day-Rene Collins—last seen on the 4200 block of Captain Perry Court around 10:15 a.m. on August 30—have been safely located after an Amber Alert was issued.

Bowie State students from the Visual Communication & Digital Media Arts program spent two weeks at LAIKA Studios this summer learning stop-motion animation skills in Portland. They practiced character design, storyboarding and production techniques—hands-on training that will help them start careers in a growing animation field.
Bowie State University computer science major Anthony Middleton presented his research on an AI tool to detect phishing attacks at the 2025 SURI Symposium held from July 31—Aug. 1. His project showed that the machine learning model could spot harmful messages before they reached users.
