Moongold EP Release w/ Veronique

About this event

Join DC soul-funk band Moongold and singer-songwriter Veronique for a night of infectious grooves, soulful vocals, and great live music as Moongold celebrates the release of their new EP, Change Comes For Us All . Drawing inspiration from artists like Amy Winehouse, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, and the rich musical traditions of Motown and Stax, Moongold puts a modern spin on soul and funk, blending irresistible rhythms with a jazz-infused heart.

Following the release of their debut EP, Modern Life , on Denver-based independent label Color Red in 2023, Moongold relocated to Washington, DC, where the band was rebuilt around a new lineup of local musicians. Their latest EP, Change Comes For Us All , marks their first recording with this all-DC ensemble. Across six songs, the band moves between propulsive soul-funk, blues, lush ballads, and intimate jazz textures, bringing together tight horn arrangements, gritty grooves, and soulful vocals with the loose energy of a late-night Stax Records session.

Opening the night is Veronique , a DC-based singer-songwriter and self-described fledgling poet whose music and writing offer a personal creative perspective. Her latest album, ILLITERATE , marks a new chapter in her work as an artist. Come early to catch her opening set before Moongold takes the stage.
