About this event
“Called by name, committed to each other.”
As we walk together through this period of transition, we invite you to joyfully put your faith into action by remembering the stated mission of First & Franklin:
We strive to be an inclusive, diverse congregation devoted to embracing our community through socially engaging and relevant preaching and an inspirational congregational music program, service to others and fellowship that increases our understanding of one another. Our mission is to make Baltimore a better community for everyone and we welcome anyone who comes through our doors.
We remind you that a mission statement tells us what kind of church we aspire to be, but our daily ministries prove that God is already making that aspiration true.
Stewardship is the joyous discipline of thanking God with the way we live our lives, spend our time, and share our resources. As we weave this message into our worship over the Sundays in November, we invite you to put your faith into action by making your financial commitment a recurring opportunity. In the Sundays of November, five of the working groups of the Session that are active in the life of our church and community have presented the “Minute for Stewardship” during worship. We hope that by hearing the good works being done, you may be inspired to become involved and actively participate in one or more of the groups.
We see the powerful answers in lives changed through our hands-on mission projects, including our Food Pantry, Al Anon, NA, Guns 2 Gardens, our partnerships in Cuba and Sisseton, and the Family Survivor Network.
By putting relationships at the center of our stewardship, we invite you to see how your gifts connect directly to visible ministries at the intersection of God’s mission and community need. They inspire us to reflect on our own values, our earliest memories of giving, and the lasting legacy we want to leave behind as we look forward to our collective work in 2027.
Stewardship is not just money, but also time, prayer and being present. Let us move forward together into 2027, celebrating the time, talent, and treasure that bind our community.
Thank you to everyone who has given so freely and generously to support First & Franklin. As we look toward the future, we ask you to prayerfully consider how your gifts can continue to build up our ministries and secure our community presence. We hope that you are able to fully participate in the coming year.
