About this event
A 2-day Workshop Intensive!Class Meets Saturday-Sunday, December 5-6, 10:30am-3:30pm
It’s time for LITHO! Lemon Etch Litho introduces the basic principles of lithography using aluminum foil, gum Arabic, and lemon juice. Using simple materials, you can produce small, beautifully tonal lithographs with or without a press.
Lithography is often considered a complex and challenging medium, requiring a wide range of materials and equipment. This method shifts that concept around, using easily accessible materials. Prints can be printed by hand or using a press. We will create images from start to finish, including processing and printing a small set of prints onto thin Asian-style papers.
On Day 1 we will work through the process together step by step, from materials, set up, processing, printing and clean up. Day 2 will be more open work time to practice this method. At the end of this workshop, students should be able to create Litho prints almost anywhere!
Level: All levels—Beginners and experienced printmakers alike are welcome!
Registration closes November 21, 2026. Material fees are included with your registration to cover the supplies provided in class. Students will need to gather/purchase additional materials for class (see the materials list below). This list will also be provided with the registration confirmation email.
