About this event
Join us for this point to point hike, the next in our series on the 911 National Memorial Trail! This Saturday hike will be the one that will start from near the Pentagon and bring us along the southern of two routes though Washington DC (the other route will be subject of the Sunday hike). We will meet at the Old Port of Bladensburg Park at Baltimore Avenue in Bladensburg MD, and then shuttle with as few cars as possible to our start point near the Pentagon. The route will take us by the Pentagon and the 911 Memorial there, and then north and across the Potomac River through the south side of the National Mall. From there, we follow streets south for just a bit to the Anacostia River. Quite simply, the remainder of the hike follows the Anacostia River Greenway to our end point, with beautiful scenery, a mix of suburbia and woods as we reach where the river is smaller in Maryland!
