About this event
Get into the holiday spirit as Color Burst Park transforms into a winter wonderland for Merriweather District’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Ice Rink Opening presented by Howard Hughes Communities®
Join us on Friday, November 20 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm to kick off the season with an evening of festive fun, featuring live performances by local students and the Columbia Figure Skating Club, holiday treats from local merchants and plenty of family-friendly activities. Enjoy hot chocolate from The Charmery, write letters to Santa, adopt a polar plushie pet, snap festive photos and more! The highlight of the evening takes place at 7 p.m., when the community gathers for the official holiday tree lighting countdown.
Guests can also stop by Guest Services for a signature holiday ornament and special giveaways, while supplies last. The first 100 guests in line will receive complimentary custom ornament engraving.
The event is free to attend, but RSVPs help us plan for the fun. RSVP at https://www.eventeny.com/events/tree-lighting-2026-28305/
Ice rink tickets are sold separately at: https://ice-rink-events.phinch.com/p/columbia
Listed by Patch: United States and Eventeny: United States, gathered by the Bowie events calendar.
