About this event

BDTM proudly partners with the Annapolis Jazz & Roots & Festival for a special afternoon celebration of art, sound, and storytelling. Taking place entirely at BDTM, this special edition weaves together the themes of the She Speaks exhibition, including voice, heritage, and feminine power, with the soulful rhythms of Pan African and jazz traditions. Attendees will experience live performances, poetry, and artist dialogues that echo the exhibition’s narratives, featuring She Speaks artist Zsudayka Terrell and headliner Akua Allrich, creating a vibrant cultural bridge between contemporary art and music. Allrich and her band will pay special tribute to freedom fighters Miriam Makeba and Nina Simone and share music from her own 2026 album, Bonya.
