Despite already high rates and excessive profits, BGE filed for a $156 million rate increase , which would increase electrical delivery rates by roughly 17%. Roughly 25% of BGE’s proposed $156 million increase would pad the company’s profit rate — all while BGE customers face systematic failures on customer service and safety. In the next month, the Public Service Commission is hosting three public hearings on whether to approve BGE’s proposal. This is your opportunity to speak out as a BGE customer to tell Maryland's Public Service Commission that you want it to reject BGE’s massive rate hike and lower the company’s already excessive profits.
