About this event
In this ongoing series, learn how to deepen your meditation practice by exploring the powerful and transformative contemplations of the Lamrim , or the stages of the path to enlightenment. More than just a technique to quiet the mind, Lamrim meditation introduces us to a structured and profound way of thinking that brings lasting inner peace and clarity.
Step by step, using the New Meditation Handbook by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, we will be guided through essential Buddhist topics such as the preciousness of this life, the reality of impermanence, the law of karma, and the truth of suffering — not as abstract ideas, but as but as living meditations that can change the way we view ourself, others, and the world. Through learning how to contemplate these teachings and integrate them into our daily lives, we develop a steady, wise, and joyful mind.
Perfect for both new and experienced meditators, this series will help you move beyond basic breathing techniques into a rich and meaningful meditation practice rooted in the wisdom and compassion of Kadampa Buddhism.
Current Series: The Inner Path--- Meditation, Wisdom, and Spiritual Guidance
True happiness and freedom comes from training the mind in meditation and wisdom. In this series, based on The New Meditation Handbook by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, we will explore essential meditations that lead us to lasting inner peace and spiritual realization.
We begin with the meditation on Tranquil Abiding , learning how to develop strong mindfulness and concentration and overcome the obstacles that prevent inner calm. We then turn to Emptiness , Buddha’s profound wisdom that reveals the true nature of reality and frees us from ignorance and self-grasping. Finally, we conclude with the meditation on Reliance on a Spiritual Guide , the foundation of all spiritual attainments.
Each class includes guided meditation, practical advice, and discussion. Everyone is welcome — from beginners to experienced meditators.
