About this event
As the world commemorates the 100th anniversary of Antoni Gaudi's death, explore the lasting influence of this visionary architect. Most of Gaudi's Modernist designs are in or near Barcelona, Spain, and seven of them have been named UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Through the lenses of architecture, cultural heritage, and contemporary design, Amilcar Vargas, head of heritage at Casa Batlló-a Gaudi masterpiece and UNESCO World Heritage Site-examines how the architect's work continues to inspire conversations about creativity, sustainability, craftsmanship, and the relationship between nature and the built environment. Vargas shares insights into preserving and interpreting Gaudi's legacy for modern audiences. He also discusses the challenges and opportunities of heritage stewardship in the 21st century and the global resonance of Gaudi's ideas. Following the lecture, enjoy a selection of wines and savory nibbles. General Information Registration for this program will end by 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
