- ➤ BGE officials said rising winter energy bills stem from higher supply costs + costly infrastructure upgrades needed to modernize aging systems. Starting this month, residents will see a 72-cent extra electric charge and a $1.95 gas impact, with another electric adjustment scheduled for March 1. WJLA

- ➤ Bowie State University mourns Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Clyde Doughty, Jr., who died Monday night at age 66 after 11 years of service.
