Bowie police are searching for 23-year-old Jacob Michael Beairsto, wanted for a first-degree assault after a cutting incident on March 13 — officers responded around 3:45 p.m on Morningside Lane and said he is armed and dangerous.

Acting County Executive Tara Jackson released a fiscal 2026 budget proposal that makes the general fund $4.78 billion—a little more than a 4% rise from last year—and spends over 80% on schools and public safety.
