  • Officials announced that demolition of the aging FedEx Field site in Landover will begin within 90 days after the Washington Commanders play in their new home—local leaders and the governor plan to redevelop the 200-acre site into a vibrant mixed-use district that meets community needs. Acting County Executive Tara Jackson said the project will create jobs, improve infrastructure, and support local businesses.  WJLA

CRIME NEWS

  • A Prince George’s County man is accused of murdering his 44-year-old girlfriend—whose body was found partially covered in concrete in the Ewing Avenue apartment on April 24—and then stabbing a man at a D.C. Walmart the next day, and he remains in custody awaiting extradition on murder and assault charges.  WJLA
