EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bowie State University has been named on America’s Best Colleges for Women 2026 list by Newsweek & Gender Fair, ranking it 6th in Maryland and 175th nationwide among 751 colleges. The designation highlights its strong support for women in academics, leadership, and athletics. Bowie State University
- ➤ Jade Ward, Bowie State’s 41st SGA president, has led monthly campus forums to improve academic advising—reflecting her commitment to student advocacy. The sociology major plans to pursue a Ph.D. after graduation, crediting the school for fostering her inclusive leadership journey. Bowie State University
- ➤ On April 8, Bowie State hosted a panel at its Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Nursing building where faculty reviewed Rev. Jesse Jackson's role in civil rights and shared insights (including work with the SCLC) that helped the community reflect on his legacy. Bowie State University
