- ➤ Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor in Prince George’s County will close in November as Six Flags says the parks no longer fit its long-term growth plan. The final day for Six Flags America is Nov. 2 — eligible employees will receive benefits and season tickets for 2025 will be honored. WTOP
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ High school seniors in Prince George’s County were celebrated Thursday at Decision Day held at Prince George’s Stadium, where many showed their college plans and others met with recruiters from local companies, universities, police, and fire departments. The event also gave underclassmen a chance to learn about future opportunities — with live performances from the Bowie High School Band and the Morgan State Machine adding to the day. WTOP

- ➤ Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said on ABC's The View that he will not run for president in 2028 and will focus on work in the state. He hopes to be re-elected as governor in 2026—stressing Maryland's progress. WJLA
- ➤ Prince George’s County declared the long-vacant Fairmont Heights High School surplus so its Redevelopment Authority can transfer the 14-acre site along Addison Road to a film company that will build a studio, educational center, and museum this summer—an effort praised by alumni.
