  • A Prince George's County man was arrested and charged with murdering his girlfriend, 44-year-old Sherron Turner, whose body was found in a Suitland apartment on April 24 wrapped in plastic and partially covered in concrete—police linked him to the crime with Home Depot receipts and concrete bags found at the scene.  WTOP

ECONOMY NEWS

  • County leaders are reacting to Six Flags America announcing it will close at season's end in November—officials plan to explore new entertainment options to address potential job losses and revenue impacts in the area.  WJLA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Prince George’s County announced that both Six Flags and the Washington Commanders will leave the county—removing about $12 million in yearly tax revenue. Local officials said they will hold community meetings to discuss plans for redeveloping the sites into new opportunities.  WTOP
