- ➤ Bowie State University hosted the inaugural Good Trouble conference April 15 to 16 to discuss the legacy and future role of HBCUs. More than 80 students, faculty and staff from the Mid-Atlantic gathered at the Student Center (with a virtual option) to share ideas on civic engagement. Bowie State University
- ➤ Bowie State students are featured in a University System of Maryland social media campaign that shows how the local campus offers affordable education for future careers. - ➤ Bowie State University will cut 79 jobs amid an $18 million deficit announced by President Aminta Breaux. The university, which had a $13.6 million shortfall last year, plans the layoffs through reorganization and vacancies to stabilize its finances. WTOP
- ➤ Joseph Vivens ’23 returned to Bowie State as a nontraditional student, balancing coursework, family, and his multimedia business. He earned dean’s list honors and produced the short film S.O.S. inspired by his heritage, using his journey to encourage lifelong learning. Bowie State University
- ➤ Bowie State University hosted its annual Bulldog Pitch Competition on April 30, drawing more than 600 participants who watched nine student ventures compete for 30,000 dollars in prize funding.
