A recent study found that nearly 40% of Maryland jobs may be reshaped by AI, while roles needing personal contact remain less vulnerable (the study assessed over 800 occupations and experts highlight new training programs).

Bowie State University is considering plans to cut nearly 80 positions from its FY 2027 budget amid an $18 million deficit from reduced funding & lower enrollment.

The cuts will be based on vacancies, reorganizations, retirements and layoffs as the school works to address its financial challenges.
