- ➤ Bowie's 48th annual Bowiefest will take place on June 7 at Allen Pond Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.—the event will offer live music, food from various vendors, family activities, and free shuttle buses from three local pickup spots. City of Bowie
- ➤ Elementary and middle school kids and families are invited to White Marsh Park for campfire stories and snacks on May 31 from 6 to 7 p.m. The campfire is located behind the Bowie Playhouse — registration is strongly encouraged — to enjoy an evening of fun and outdoor learning. City of Bowie

- ➤ Kamila Palacios, a native Bowie student and BSU senior in history and government, was diagnosed with dyslexia when a recent LSAT test led to free testing—she always had high grades despite struggling with reading and writing. She will receive her Bachelor Degree today and hopes to become an immigration lawyer to support her community. WJLA
