  • Firefighters gathered on Thursday to support graduating senior Amy Hill as she rehearsed for her Southern High School graduation, honoring her father, Captain Chris Hill — who died in 2016 in a line-of-duty death from brain cancer. Amy will graduate Monday with Cum Laude honors and plan to attend Randolph-Macon College.  WJLA

CRIME NEWS

  • A man was arrested for stabbing a Bowie High School student on Wednesday in the school parking lot (during a dispute) and left the student with non-life-threatening injuries (the suspect faces charges for attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault and possession of a weapon on school property).  WTOP
  • Prince George’s County police charged Michael Holly—60 from Capitol Heights—with first and second degree murder after he fatally shot 24-year-old Isiah Hunter during a dispute on March 23 on Boones Hill Road, and he is held at a corrections facility.  WJLA
