- ➤ Prince George’s County Police Department confirmed that second victim Deandre Stevenson, 37, died on June 16 from injuries he suffered after a shooting on June 3 in the 5600 block of Regency Park Court—authorities said suspect James Stewart, 35, remains in custody facing first-degree murder charges. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tara Jackson was appointed as the new State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County after Aisha Braveboy became county executive. Jackson, in her third stint at the office—she will review pending cases in her first 30 to 60 days—will serve until December 2026. WTOP
- ➤ Prince George’s County will see a job swap as State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy is sworn in as County Executive while Acting County Executive Tara Jackson becomes the new State’s Attorney—she said Jackson will review prosecutor performance and apply accountability for juvenile offenders on a case-by-case basis.
