- ➤ Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who pleaded not guilty on charges including human smuggling, alleged MS-13 ties and gun smuggling, will stand trial in Tennessee before any ICE action occurs — his attorneys warned that without a transfer to Maryland, he may be deported to an unknown third country before his trial. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Shawn Joseph has been named interim head of Prince George’s County Public Schools and will lead a 100 day plan to improve local schools through monthly meetings in each board district and academic reviews. He will work with families—union leaders and parent-teacher groups to drive needed changes ahead of the upcoming school year. WTOP
GOVERNMENT NEWS
