- ➤ Deputies from Northumberland County responded to an unattended vehicle report near Ferry Road Monday morning and discovered Louise Cox (79), who was reported missing from Prince George’s County on July 14th, dead in the Little Wicomico River in Virginia, with investigators using license plate tracking to piece together her travel timeline. - ➤ Bowie State University announced that the Patterson Family Foundation renewed its $75,000 scholarship gift to support full-time undergraduate and graduate English majors studying creative writing and teaching. The scholarship benefits 10 students during the 2024–25 academic year—helping them stay on track for graduation. Bowie State University
- ➤ Bowie State University welcomed 45 freshmen into the 2025 Bulldog Scholars Academy—where residential students earn 6 credits from two courses and commuter students earn 3 credits from one course—and supports them with lab research, tutoring, and a concert featuring Sweet Honey in the Rock. The Residential Academy runs from June 23 to August 2 while the Commuter Academy runs from June 25 to July 31. Bowie State University

SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Bowie State University Cycling Club finished in the top 10 of the Atlantic Conference of USA Cycling during its first season with two women riders earning all the points under Coach Sir-Colin Franklin.
