- ➤ County police arrested a suspect last week with counterfeit money during an attempted purchase at a Fort Washington drug store—Secret Service is helping to investigate the case and issue tips to spot fake bills. WJLA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy announced the new Strike Force 311 to remove abandoned vehicles and clean overgrown lots as part of a $1 million initiative addressing properties neglected for an average of 489 days—local residents like Arminda Pinea saw cleaning crews begin work in their neighborhoods. The county will hire local businesses to improve property conditions and ensure community complaints are resolved faster. WTOP
- ➤ County Executive Aisha Braveboy has named former worker Samuel Belsham Moki, who was fired in 2014 for not managing the stormwater program well, as the acting head of the Department of the Environment; he began on June 26 and will wait for the County Council's confirmation in September.
