- ➤ Prince George’s County Public Schools interim superintendent Shawn Joseph said the district is ready for the new school year starting Tuesday, with all principals hired, a 93% teacher fill rate, and the lowest-ever bus vacancies despite 7% teacher vacancies and delays on roughly 600 bus routes. He added that posting school-by-school vacancies online—a move aimed at boosting transparency—will support efforts to address chronic absenteeism and low academic proficiency levels. WJLA
