- ➤ EXCEL Academy Public Charter School, one of the county’s longest-running charter schools, will not open its doors this fall after its board surrendered its charter on Aug. 21—citing ongoing financial challenges and related issues. Prince George's County Public Schools said it will contact families soon to assign students and reassign staff. WJLA
