Today, Bowie State University unveiled a mosaic tile mural called Conversation by internationally recognized artist Victor Ekpuk at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Communication Arts Center to honor Dr. King and the school's rich history — the piece uses Nsibidi symbols to create a dialogue between classrooms and performance spaces.

Dr. Monique Alston, a Bowie High School graduate with over 25 years of nursing experience, was named chair of the Department of Nursing at Bowie State University on Sept.
10. She will lead efforts to improve the curriculum and expand clinical partnerships—while mentoring faculty and supporting students.
