EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Thirteen schools in Prince George's County were named among the healthiest in the U.S. in a report by the Alliance For a Healthier Generation—Springhill Lake Elementary School received the 2025 All-Star Award as one of 168 recognized nationwide. WJLA
- ➤ Prince George’s Interim Superintendent of Schools Shawn Joseph urged local residents to view state test scores as marks of student growth rather than only as proficiency levels. He noted that recent gains in English Language Arts for African American and Hispanic students show progress despite overall low scores. WJLA
- ➤ After fights and a robbery at a high school football game last weekend, Prince George’s County Public Schools instituted security protocols—extra officers guard outdoor areas, tickets are required for entry, and only students with valid IDs may attend—with similar measures to be applied at basketball games once the season begins.
