- ➤ Governor Moore said he is fighting to keep health care affordable amid a federal shutdown and blamed Congress & the White House for rising costs. Critics argued his administration’s higher fees and taxes are pushing Maryland residents toward more expensive living conditions and increased health premiums. WJLA
- ➤ Maryland Governor Wes Moore visited a local food pantry Friday—where furloughed federal workers and residents seeking help received support—and said the shutdown must end to protect jobs and health care. WJLA
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Susan G Komen Foundation and Luminis Health Doctors Community Hospital will offer free breast cancer screening and diagnostic imaging for women in Prince George’s County. A webinar on Oct. 29 featuring CEO Tamia Booker and survivor Thandi Montgomery will address racial gaps in care—Black women are 40% more likely to die from the disease, according to the American Cancer Society.
